About Marple Business Forum

The Marple Business Forum represents the retailers and businesses of Marple. Our aim is to promote the town, represent the best interest of its members when dealing with Stockport Council, police and other authorities, and act as a discussion forum for local businesses at our regular meetings.

As a pressure group we help bring about improvements to our town: we were instrumental in getting security CCTV installed. We are also responsible for the Christmas lights! Now numbering more than 130 members, the Marple Business Forum grew out of the former Marple Chamber of Trade.

AGM – New Officers

At the Annual General Meeting of the Marple Business Forum held Wednesday 2nd May 2012, new officers were elected.

Marple's Portas Pilot Application

Mary Portas Marple has submitted an application to become a Portas Pilot that could see the town net up to £100,000 from the government to help improve the town centre.

The Marple Vision Partnership and Marple Business Forum have put together the bid which includes celebration of Marple’s heritage as well as making Marple a 21st century town that caters for the community and visitors.

As with any bid for government money there are certain criteria that have to be met and we have put together a plan that hopefully meets those criteria and the needs of Marple.
